Mani Mondays and a Giveaway!

So I decided to give nail decals a try. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I took a break from all the bright summer nail colors and just used 2 coast of OPI in Passion.  It's my favorite "natural" polish.  You can add another coat to make it opaque, but I decided that I wanted it a little translucent for a more natural look. I found this beautiful feather design and purchased it in both purple and blue.  I had never used nail decals before. I actually just used nail tape for the first time, here.  All in all, I like it. If you look SUPER close, you can see that it's a decal, but it's not really obvious and I really like this design.

It was a lot easier to use that I thought it would be.  You just cut around the decal as close to the design as you can.  Then you peel off the clear cover and it exposes the sticky side of the decal.  You press it onto your nail and rub it a little to make sure it's on there well. Mine came with a couple little foam pads. You just take a pad, wet it and place it on top of the paper side to moisen the paper (the paper side of the decal is facing up, now that you have pressed the decal onto your nail).  The directions said to wait 30 seconds to take the paper backing off, but mine actually came off with the wet sponge. It didn't damage the decal...maybe I got lucky? Too finish, you just add a couple coats of top coat and you are good to go!

I would have used a different base color. I just got bored with my natural looking manicure and decided to go for it.

Now for the giveaway! I am so excited to be teaming up with Melinda from To Gild the Lily for this giveaway! After I purchased a case back in June, she offered to do a giveaway with me. I was so excited because I absolutely LOVED the case that I got.  I raved about it here.

Now you have a chance to win your own personalized monogram case from To Gild the Lily.  You can pick your own design from their Etsy Store, and have it monogrammed with your initials.

Good luck and thank you for stopping by!

I think all of those things together might look kind of tacky, so I'm gonna go with the one that stood out to me first which was the Monogram tiffany blue chevron iphone 4 case. It is GORGEOUS!!!
